Information and regulations
1. Exhibits to be placed on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Cottonwood Mall, Chilliwack, BC between 6:30 and 8:00pm. Entry tags available at setup at venue. Judging Friday October 17, 2025 between 9am and 10am
2. All exhibits need to be removed at 5:00pm Saturday, October 18, 2025
3. Neutral, light green backdrop are provided. Table cover is black.
4. Exhibits must be the individual exhibitor's own work and have not been previously entered in a show.
5. For this show, an exhibit is defined as one or more placements, coposed of natural plant material, with or without accessories, staged within an allotted space. Backdrops, bases, containers, drapes, accessories may be included unless prohibited by the show schedule. Plant material must predeominate. The exhibitor's entry tag to be placed with the exhibit in the correct class.
6. Fresh plant material to be placed in water or water retaining material, unless such material can remain turgid throughout the judging and public viewing.
7. Painted and artificially coloured plant material may be used.
8. No artificial plant material of any kind can be used in the designs.
9. For classes that do not specify otherwise, the maximum size limit for each exhibit is 24 inches wide and 36 inches high and by the depth of the table - approximately 24 inches.
10. Only one entry per class per exhibitor; however, you may enter as many classes as you wish.
11. A NOVICE is anyone who has received three or fewer first place (blue ribbons) in a judged floral art show. A NOVICE may also enter any of the OPEN classes.
12. The Show Committee has the power to place in the correct class any entry wrongly placed.
13. The exhibits will be judged in accordance with the BC Council of Garden Clubs Floral Design Judging and Exhibiting Standards Manual(2017) and the definitions etc. hereby will apply. The manual can be obtained from the BC Council of Garden Clubs by emailing info@bcgardenclubs.com
14. If the Judge indicates NAS "Not as Schedule" the entry is disqualified.
15. The Judge's decision if final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
16. Ribbons may be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each class. A Rosette will be awarded for "Best in Show" and "Honorable Mention"
17. The Judge may withhold awards from exhibits considered to be of insufficient merit.
18. Exhibitors must leave the display area prior to judging. Only the Show Committee, Judges and those expressly permitted can be present during the judging.
19. Although every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of all exhibits and the exhibitor's personal effects, the Floral Artists of the Fraser Valley and the Cottonwood Mall shall not be held responsible for any breakage, theft, misplaced components, tools, or plant materials during the set up, take down and the public viewing of the show.

NOTE: The Judge's manual says a basket must be made of woven material; for this show a basket must be made of woven material: metal, wood fabric ceramic i.e. any type of basket
